North Greenville closely watching game 2..

From the press box at Prasco...

Game 2 on today's schedule in our pool is just underway.

The game pits #7 The Masters (1-1) vs #3 Mount Vernon (0-1)

Since NGU holds the tie breaker over Mt. Vernon by virtue of their head-to-head victory yesterday afternoon, the Crusaders would benefit most from a Mt. Vernon win.

Should the Cougars win, it would put North Greenville two games ahead of Masters in the loss column when the Mustangs play their final pool game against NGU later today. This- coupled with a King victory over Mt. Vernon tonight- would effectively make tomorrow's battle between King and NGU the Pool Championship Game with the winner advancing to the National Championship Series.

If Master's wins today and/or King loses tonight the scenarios get crazy and we begin to look at tie-breakers and such.

I will re-iterate though...if you keep taking care of your own business by winning baseball games (as the crusaders have so far), it doesn't matter what anyone else does.

Mike Benjamin is currently slated to start our 4:30 contest today, this could change of course, based on what happens in the game going on right now. Keep you posted...
